Restaurant Week at Elvira’s DC Ranch: What I Ordered & What I Thought

If there’s one thing I love, it’s an excuse to try a new restaurant—and Arizona Restaurant Week was the perfect one! For the first day of Restaurant Week, I headed to Elvira’s DC Ranch in Scottsdale to try their three-course prix fixe menu. The Restaurant Week menu was $55 per person and included one appetizer, one entrée, and one dessert.

I started with the chicken tinga quesadilla, and let me just say… WOW. This was hands down my favorite thing I ate. It was absolutely packed with flavor and was HUGE for an appetizer. With jalapeño, pickled red onion, cotija, and scallions, there was a lot going on in every bite.

For my main, I went with the grilled pork chop. The pork chop itself was pretty good, but the peanut sauce and rice were the real stars of the plate. The veggies were probably my least favorite part because I felt like they needed a little more salt and seasoning, but overall, it was still a satisfying entrée.

Dessert was the Nutella flan, and while I wouldn’t say it had a strong Nutella flavor, it was still a really yummy, rich dessert. By this point I was very full, so I honestly wish I had saved more room because I would have happily finished it!

Even though a drink wasn’t included in their restaurant week menu they have a TON of different margarita options on their regular menu, so I just had to try one. I went with the Euphoria. It was incredibly refreshing and ginormous so definitely worth the cost.

Overall, I really enjoyed my first visit to Elvira’s DC Ranch. The chicken tinga quesadilla was the standout for me, but the atmosphere and margarita selection definitely make me want to come back and explore more of the regular menu.

Would I go back? Absolutely!
