Categories are a way to organize and find posts on a blog. Categories represent the main or broader topic of a blog post, while tags function more like keywords that describe the specific details of a particular post. Categories and tags work together to help organize and categorize blog content, but categories are broader and cover a wider range of topics, while tags are more specific. Tags can overlap with categories but provide more detail about what the individual post is about.
For my blog, The Desert Dish, which focuses on rating and reviewing restaurants throughout Arizona, I plan to use categories based on the type of dining experience, such as Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. I may also create categories based on different areas of Arizona as my blog grows. My tags will be more specific to each restaurant visit, such as the types of food I ate, cuisine, or specific dishes I reviewed. This will make it easier for readers to find posts based on both the type of dining experience and the food they are interested in.
